From Bondage to Freedom: A Survivor's Story

At just 25 years old, K.V. has lived a journey marked by unimaginable challenges and inspiring transformation. Growing up in a small village with her grandmother and siblings, her early years were filled with simple joys like playing with friends and attending primary school. Yet, her world was turned upside down when she became a victim of human trafficking. For three long years, K.V. endured unimaginable trauma.

“I am so grateful for the compassionate support of those at Kabod International, who helped me in my healing journey and helped me step into true freedom.”

K.V. works and studies diligently, pouring her creativity into hobbies like painting, gardening, and doing nails. She dreams of becoming a professional in home decoration and design, a chef, or even an aviation pilot—careers that symbolize her newfound freedom and her desire to bring joy to others.

For K.V., traveling is more than just movement; it’s a powerful symbol of the liberty she has reclaimed. With her residency finally approved, she reflects with gratitude:

"No one else will be the owner of my life, other than the faith that guides me and my determination to move forward. I am a survivor, and every day I fight to change my future while helping others who may be in the same situation I once was.”

With her residency paperwork finalized, her journey from bondage to independence is complete.

Her radiant smile says it all—a life transformed, a future reclaimed.

K.V.’s story is a powerful testament to what happens when we come together to rescue, restore, and empower. This year, as you consider your year-end giving, would you help more survivors like K.V. step into freedom and reclaim their futures?

Your generosity can change lives, offering hope and a pathway to healing.
