Take Hold

What an unforgettable summer we had at Machaca Summer Camp this year! From the moment the MMT staff moved in on June 27th to prepare and set the atmosphere, we knew it was going to be something special.

We kicked off the summer with a bang, welcoming our Senior High campers on July 3rd. This competitive group brought unparalleled energy, diving into every activity and challenge that awaited them The air was filled with laughter, shouts of encouragement, and friendly rivalry as campers fought tooth and nail to secure victory in each challenge. From relay races to obstacle courses, no one wanted to leave without giving it their all.

Next up, our Junior High campers arrived, among the many unforgettable moments, one truly stood out and captured what camp is all about.

A young lady named Markesha emerged as a shining example of how the father was encountering kids of all ages at camp. For the first time in her life, she heard the voice of the Father, an experience that left her in sheer awe. As she shared her story with fellow campers, her eyes shone with disbelief and joy, revealing the depth of her transformation.

Markesha recounted how powerful it was to feel God answering even her simplest questions, each response making her feel an overwhelming sense of love and reassurance. Her experience was not just a personal revelation; it became a shared moment of connection within her group. The impact of her newfound faith resonated deeply with those around her, inspiring others to seek their own encounters with the Father.

Our 10-12 age group was nothing short of amazing! Games like “Hide the Counselor” and giant football filled the camp with laughter and cheers. It was heartwarming to see friendships blossom as campers encouraged one another and celebrated victories, no matter how small.

Worship nights quickly became a highlight of their experience, with flags and dancing, oh what a joy to see. Each child connected with the experience uniquely, transforming worship into an uplifting celebration and allowing them to deepen their connection with God.

Finally, our youngest group, the 7-9-year-olds, brought such pure wonder to camp. In one particularly powerful session, Lisa led them in an identity statement, prompting them to repeat after her: “I am brave, I am loved.” Before long, the kids began enthusiastically shouting their own declarations, such as

“I am smart,” “I am beautiful,” and “I’m good at football!”

It was a beautiful moment of childlike confidence, reminding us all of the importance of having the childlike faith to just know our worth and identity in Christ.

All in all, Machaca Summer Camp 2024 was nothing short of extraordinary. From the testimonies of life-changing encounters to the playful moments of joy, this summer will be cherished for years to come.

We can’t wait to see the campers again next year!
