Summer Camp Testimonies

Here are some amazing testimonies from current Machaca Ministry Team (Camp Staff) members. They all grew up coming to summer camp and now they are leading and impacting the next generation!

“The MSC has impacted me in several different ways. As a child growing up, I was introduced to the camp by a friend. This camp has taught me the values of having God in my life on a day-to-day basis.”

“This year will make it 4 years since I have been a part of MMT. Machaca Summer Camp has given me an opportunity to teach the younger kids the things I have learned from the years of being there. One thing I can say is that learning about God is the main reason behind the camp. It is not just about having fun; it is also about learning to be leaders, learning to overcome certain things, and stepping out of your comfort zone and experiencing new things as you go along.”

“My experience I went to camp from a young age, and it's a learning experience, exciting, adventurous. Through activities, we learn skills, communication skills how to be kind. From the activities, we learn how to be safe while having fun. Over the years, it’s been a memorable experience, and we do it all while learning about God. While I remember camp, I remember to think and serve God.”

“My personal experience is I’ve grown up going and always wanted to be a counselor. Every time I went around, there was a positive energy. Now I’m a counselor finally, and they always pray for me and give me a word, and Rick said I was a leader, Lisa said I was a leader, and Mercedes said I was a leader all separate but said the same thing, so you know it's a true prayer.”

The best thing about being part of the MMT staff is getting to meet new people with different personalities. I get to socialize with the children, and it’s really eye-opening, especially for me. I’m stepping out of my comfort zone, and it’s just fun. I found my God-given gift, and it’s just wonderful.

“The place that feels like home. I remember the first time I went to camp how it blessed my life a lot because it was the first time I got to encounter God, and after that, I started building a relationship with Jesus. It's a place where they get to be free and be loved. It's also something that they look forward to every year. Camp has done amazing things in my life and has impacted me so much to grow deeper in faith and also given me a new perspective in life that you can love Jesus and still have fun.”
